 Role Overview
A Fundraising Volunteer is a mission-driven advocate who contributes time, energy, and networks to help raise funds, broaden the donor base, and support resource mobilization goals. This is an essential role in strengthening the organization’s financial sustainability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support campaigns, events, and appeals through outreach, solicitation, and relationship-building
     
  • Assist with prospect research—identifying potential donors, sponsors, and funding sources
     
  • Provide introduction or warm referrals to prospective donors, foundations, corporate sponsors, and community partners
     
  • Help coordinate donor cultivation efforts (e.g., hosting donor gatherings, stewardship outreach, follow-up)
     
  • Engage with constituents, peers, and community groups to spread awareness and generate philanthropic interest
     
  • Collaborate with development staff to plan, execute, and assess fundraising strategies and events
     
  • Serve as an ambassador for the nonprofit: tell compelling stories, articulate mission, and build trust
     
  • Provide feedback and ideas to strengthen fundraising campaigns, appeals, and donor experiences
     
  • Uphold ethics, confidentiality, donor stewardship principles, and transparency in all fundraising activities

  • Relationship orientation: ability to connect authentically and listen deeply
     
  • Dependable, organized, and self-motivated
     
  • Understanding of donor etiquette and philanthropic best practices (training can be provided)
     
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, board, and other volunteers
